Our Recyling Scheme 1 year On

Our Recycling Scheme is a year old (3rd June 2025) and has been a huge success, with no signs of slowing down.

Our aim was to help Tollesbury re-think what should be thrown away in our black bin bags, saving certain recyclables from landfill.

We have targeted over 20 recyclable items, that cannot be placed in the doorstep Council pink bag scheme. And the scheme success is shown in the numbers….. over 800kg of recyclables have been saved from landfill, including; 168kg of batteries, 127kg soft plastics, 381 vapes, 37kg blister packs, 454 bras and many more. Please see below for the exact figures collected and refer to the poster for our full recycling list.

Thank you to the nine village locations who have various drop off points. Thank you to the band of volunteers who collect the items, to then move them on to facilitate the recycling.

A HUGE thank you to TOLLESBURY for embracing this scheme.
We love this simple, but effective project.
