Apples are still in good supply, and this recipe is an unusual way of using apple and lamb to give a slightly sweet taste to a savoury dish.

Chutney is a wonderful addition to a meal of cold meats, cheese or a curry or barbecue. Homemade chutney can be made to your taste – add extra spice or more/less sugar and experiment with ingredients, especially if you grow your own fruit and vegetables and have a glut.
