Tollesbury Wick & BUDS Project – Public Meeting
Wednesday 14th January
Essex Wildlife Trust is holding an information meeting about a major coastal recharging project planned for Tollesbury Wick.
The meeting will explain the Beneficial Use of Dredged Sediment (BUDS) project, which aims to strengthen sea defences and protect salt marsh habitat off Tollesbury Wick during 2026-2027.
The project will involve placing sediment on the foreshore at Old Hall Point, Cobmarsh Island and Tollesbury Wick, creating approximately 6.7 hectares of vegetated shingle beach to reduce wave and storm damage. Similar work nearby has already shown positive results.
All welcome!!
This is an important opportunity to learn more about costal protection plans that will directly affect Tollesbury and surrounding marshes.
