It’s smiles all round

TCP has something to celebrate!

We’ve been awarded more than £6000 by the National Lottery Community Fund to carry on “greening up Tollesbury”.

We’ve already planted hundreds of trees and hedging plants, including the wonderful orchard, to help address climate change.

Now we have the money to do more.

Yippee.

Our plan is to create wildlife friendly areas in Tollesbury, planting some more trees and lots of wild flowers, putting up bird boxes and insect houses and generally making them places people will want to go to and relax.

So, with that in mind, we’re also going to be putting in some benches among the trees we’ve planted, as well as installing bicycle stands to encourage people to cycle rather than drive.

All this by Spring next year!

We need lots of help – children and families to grow wild flower plants, people to make bird boxes and insect houses, lots of people to help at planting time in the autumn and spring.

Watch out for notices around the village during the year.

Just imagine, sitting amongst native bluebells, foxgloves, poppies, watching birds and enjoying relaxing in nature. It’s coming soon!

If you would like to help contact hello@tollesburyclimate.org.

A big thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund.
