Tollesbury Comes Together to Make Our Village Bloom!
Greening Up Tollesbury!
What a wonderful morning we had at Tollesbury Cemetery and Community Orchard for our ‘Greening Up Tollesbury’ Mass Planting Day! With muddy hands, plenty of enthusiasm and a shared love for our village, local residents came together to help create an even greener, more colourful and wildlife-friendly Tollesbury.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday morning and gave up their time to be part of something truly special. Whether you planted bulbs, helped prepare the ground, shared a cup of tea or treated everyone to some delicious cake, your contribution helped make the day a fantastic success.
An Incredible 675 Bulbs Planted!

Creating a Haven for Wildlife
Our planting day was about much more than simply adding colour to the landscape. By introducing a diverse range of bulbs and wildflowers, we’re helping to create a richer habitat that will provide valuable food and shelter for bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.
As everything begins to establish and flourish, these new additions will help support local biodiversity while making the Cemetery and Community Orchard even more beautiful places to visit and enjoy.
Just imagine the colourful displays we’ll have to look forward to next spring, and for many years to come!
The Power of Community
Days like this really remind us what can be achieved when a community comes together.
It takes a little time, plenty of muddy hands and a shared passion for our village, but the difference we can make together is incredible. Every bulb planted and every wildflower added is an investment in Tollesbury’s future, helping to create a greener, more vibrant and wildlife-friendly place for everyone to enjoy.
Most importantly, it was wonderful to see so many people getting involved, sharing smiles, enjoying the fresh air and working together towards something that will benefit the whole community.
A Huge Thank You!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our Mass Planting Day such a success.
From those who spent hours digging and planting to those who kept everyone fuelled with tea and delicious cake, every single contribution was appreciated. Your generosity, time and enthusiasm made the morning really special.
We’d also like to thank Bob Cross for capturing the day through his photographs, helping us remember what a fantastic community effort it was.
Now comes the exciting part – watching everything grow, bloom and flourish!
We can’t wait to see the results of our hard work and enjoy the beautiful displays and wildlife that will follow.
Lastly a very big thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for making it all possible.
